1956 Jaguar XK140

The 1956 Jaguar XK140 had been modified with an automatic transmission by a previous owner.  We removed the incorrect automatic transmission and installed a period correct manual unit with overdrive.  All of the clutch pedal parts and linkages were sourced and installed. A new fly wheel, driveshaft, overdrive electrical wiring and relays were installed.

Power steering and air conditioning have been added to this car by a previous owner.  As a result, the fan belt was rubbing against the power steering box. We fabricated and installed a custom idler pulley to keep the belt from rubbing.

Update: After driving the car for a few years the owner decided that the power steering system should be removed and an original rack and pinion installed. We were able source the required correct original parts and manufacture the frame mounting brackets that were missing. The rack and pinion were rebuilt and then installed.
